Demonstration at Jugijan railway station

Hojai, January 11: Nearly 500 people of Jugijan area and along with the activists of Jugijan Anchalik Manch staged a 12-hour demonstration on the platform in front Jugijan railway station on Monday demanding stoppage of the mail train of Kamrup Express at Jugijan. Prasenjit Das, vice-president of Jugijan Anchalik garik Manch said that they would continue their demonstration for five days. If the railway officials assure them of fulfillment of their demand then they might stop the demonstration. The Jugijan Anchalik garik Manch had earlier submitted memoranda to DRM Lumding, MP of gaon, Rajen Gohain, Deputy Commissioner of gaon and Ardhendu Kumar Dey, MLA of Hojai, demanding railway crossing gate or under subway, stoppage of mail trains, platform shed and water facilities at Jugijan Railway Station. Manuranjan Thousen, president of the Manch, said that on January 21 they will stage rail blockade at Jugijan railway station.
