PATHSALA, July 13: A Dental awareness and treatment camp was held in Iswarjhari char of greater Majer Alga area by the dental unit of Bongaigaon Boat Clinic on Thursday. Around 150 people, mainly women and children, were checked and treated in the camp. Among others, the programme was organized by Mojnur Hussain Mondal, District Programme Officer of Bongaigaon Boat Clinic. The camp was led by Dr Rupam Choudhury.

Dr Choudhury, who has been rendering health service in the remote and inaccessible riverine areas in Bongaigoan district, said that it was a difficult task to create awareness among the people of such remote areas. Most of the school-going children in these areas do not have the habit of brushing their teeth. “We are trying to motivate them to brush their teeth by distributing free toothpaste with the help of some medicine companies and show them the correct brushing technique,” he said.
