Deplorable condition of roads irks people

JOYSAGAR, May 3: The condition of most of the PWD roads and roads under the municipal authority in Sivasagar town has become deplorable, thereby causing much inconvenience for the people. The totally damaged roads of the town are L K B Road, Kalibari Road, Dhane Khowa Road, Phukan Nagar Road, Melachakar road, B G Road, AT Road, Dinanath Bezbarua Road, Station Chariali-Cherekapar Road, Station Chariali-Darikapar Road and the NH-37 road from the Jhanji area up to Demow.

Besides, so many roads under Sivasagar Municipal Board are also in a pathetic condition. But the Sivasagar PWD authorities as well as Sivasagar Municipal Board authorities are allegedly silent and have not taken any measures to repair and reconstruct these roads. The people as well as various social organizations have been drawing attention of the authorities concerned to these public grievances but the authorities have not taken any fruitful action in this regard.
