PATHSALA: The souls of the 855 martyrs of the historic Assam Movement will not rest in peace until foreigners are deported from the State as per the historic Assam Accord signed in 1985, said Radha Talukdar, elder brother of Khargeswar Talukdar, the first martyr of the Assam Agitation on Monday. The family of first martyr of the Assam Agitation, Khargeswar Talukdar, at Uzan Barbari village of Barpeta district paid homage to him with various programmes. The family members and the local AASU unit observed Swahid Divas.

Radha Talukdar criticized the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and appealed to the Chief Minister to scrap the bill. “If Sonowal is a real leader of the nation, he should take steps to deport the illegal foreigners,” he said.
