Deputy Group Commander visits National Cadet Crops camp at Biswanath College, Assam

Biswanath Chariali, July 18: Deputy Group Commander R B Patil visited the ongoing second phase of the 10 day-long prestigious Combined Annual Training Camp of the NCC at Biswanath College, on Wednesday. The camp has been conducted by the Army personnel of 5 Assam Battalion NCC in association with 24 Assam Rifles. It will conclude on July 25. Around 430 cadets belonging to schools, colleges and Tezpur Central University are participating in this mega event under the supervision of Commanding Officer Colonel S S Kullar of the head office of 5 Assam Battalion NCC based at Tezpur.

Deputy Group Commander Patil also interacted with the NCC cadets. The main programmes of the camp are a rally by the NCC cadets promulgating the ill effects of drugs among the youths, training of the cadets in weapons, drill, physical exercise, free medical camp, tent pitching and map reading. The camp has been conducted by Subedar Major Deepak Kumar Borah and Subedar Khagendra Nath of the Indian Army in association with Associated NCC Officers Pradip Sharma and Bhupen Talukdar and 26 instructors.
