Deroi Tea Estate worker found dead

DEMOW, June 18: A tea garden labourer, Jamru Chaurah’s (40) decomposed body was found inside the Deroi tea garden in Demow. Chaurah worked as a labourer in the tea garden. The local people of the area saw the body on Saturday morning and immediately informed the Demow Police. On Friday night, at around 7:30 pm,  Jamru Chaurah went to the club house of Deroi tea garden and was missing since then. Injury marks were found on the body and the local people suspect that he might have been attacked by miscreants with sharp weapons.  Tea labourers of the garden shouted various slogans and also demanded that the culprits should be identified and bbed as soon as possible. Ponjit Dowarah, DSP of Sivasagar district and the Demow Police reached the spot and started their investigation.
