Destition North East- 2016'' festival to be held

New Delhi: The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh addressed the All India Regiol Editors Conference at Jaipur today.

The Ministry of Development of North-East Region has taken various initiatives since the taking over by the current Government. The Ministry has different schemes for extending fincial and other assistance to different states in the region. Some of the important schemes include Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR), North East Road Sector Development Scheme (NERSDS), North East Rural Livelihood Project (NERLP), North East State Road Investment Project (NESRIP) and other initiatives taken by North Eastern Council.

Dr Jitendra Singh also interacted with the editors and answered their various queries and discussed the initiatives of the Ministry. The Minister also briefed about the festival ‘Destition North East-2016’ which is being organised by the Ministry during February 12-14 in New Delhi to showcase the inherent economic, social and cultural strength of the North East Region at tiol Level.

This Festival ‘Destition North East-2016’ will display various facets of North East in its myriad forms and colours through events as the proposed mega events. The event will include theme specific Business Summit consisting of sectors like, Tourism, Agriculture, Food Processing, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, IT, Handloom & Handicrafts, Livelihood, Micro-Fince and Start ups.
