DFO inspects village ravaged by jumbo

Boko, December 28: The district administration of Kamrup rural has deputed a magistrate for inspection of Mouman village after an elephant destroyed a part of the village. A month ago an elephant killed one man and injured another. The injured victim is still fighting for his life in GMCH. Recently a jumbo destroyed a part of Mouman village which included seven houses, sugarcane gardens and stored paddy. On Monday DFO Bhabes Das visited Mouman village while Pranjal Kataki, Ranger of Boko forest range, was absent. The DFO handed over Rs 5,000 to Dipika Rabha, wife of Barun Rabha who was killed in the jumbo attack and Rs 2,000 to the family of Tirtha Ram Rabha, who was injured in the attack,  in the presence of the village headman.
