Dharamvir reaches 100-intertiol cap milestone

Ipoh, April 12: Indian midfielder Dharamvir Singh has achieved the distinction of playing his 100th intertiol hockey match for his country. He achieved the milestone during India's 4-2 win against Australia in a Sultan Azlan Shah Cup league match here on Saturday, a Hockey India (HI) release said on Sunday.  Dharamvir made his intertiol debut in 2009 against Cada in a Test Series. Since then he has been a regular member of the tiol hockey team. “Hockey India is extremely delighted for Dharmvir Singh’s achievement of 100 intertiol matches. The midfielder has been an integral part of Indian team and always gives his best performance in matches of all levels," Md. Mushtaque Ahmad, HI's secretary general, said in a release on Sunday.

"Hockey India takes utmost pride in congratulating Dharamvir on his accomplishment of 100 intertiol caps. We wish him all the best for the upcoming tourments and hope to see him bringing more achievements for Team India," he added. The 24-year-old midfielder hails from Ropar, Punjab, and is a product of the Chandigarh Hockey Academy. IANS
