Dhubri, Chapar civic bodies formed

DHUBRI/CHAPOR, April 8: Tama Das, newly-elected commissioner of ward number 3 of the BJP was today sworn in as the chairman of the Dhubri Municipal Board. In the 16-member board, the BJP won ten wards while Congress captured two, independents three and AGP one.

Meanwhile, along with the chairman and vice-chairman, all the newly elected ward commissioners took their oaths in a function held at the conference hall of the Dhubri Municipal Board today.

On the other hand, newly elected commissioner Sajidur Rahman , who was elected from ward no 4 of Chapor town and Mizanur Rahman , who was elected from ward no 3 , took oath as Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively of the civic body today.  

It may be mentioned that BJP won three seats, Congress bagged two seats and independent candidates obtained three seats in the Chapor Town Committee polls. Even though BJP secured one more seats than Congress , BJP could formed the civic body as the three independent candidates supported Congress.
