Dibrugarh soon to have radio taxi service

DIBRUGARH, May 6: Dibrugarh will soon have Radio Taxi Service med Mini Taxi and Mini cab (AC) to make transport service  cheap  and secure.    

These mini taxis fitted with digital meter, GPS system and emergency buzzer will be operated by M/S City Cab Solution. The service will be round-the-clock call centre service. The District Transport Authority has fixed the fair at the Rs 15.00 per kilometer with other terms and conditions as notified time to time

The DTO told The Sentinel that the service would be launched by Minister of Transport, Ajit Singh on May 8 at a brief function, which would be held in the courtyard of DTO office.

“In response to the demand of former president and secretary of Dibrugarh District committee of Assam Railway Passengers Association, the Regiol Transport Authority, Dibrugarh Region, in its meeting on December 27, 2014, resolved to introduce the Mini Radio Taxi service here with a view to provide appropriate transport service to the passengers of Banipur Railway Station and Airport,” DTO Abdul Mann said.
