GOLAGHAT, May 18: The Golaghat committee of the Ujoni Asom Protibondhi Suraksha Sanstha (UAPSS), called on Social Welfare Minister Promila Rani Brahma recently and submitted a memorandum demanding resolution of their problems.

In press statement, president the organization Biswabijoy Bora said that differently-able persons have demanded of the government several times to resolve their long pending demands, but the government did not take the necessary steps to fulfill their demands. They demanded the filling up of 4285 backlog posts which have been lying vacant, release of unemployment allowance of Rs 2000 per month, education allowance, free education in universities, open universities and distance education sector. They also demanded 50 percent subsidy on loans by the nationalized bank. The Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma assured to resolve the problems of differently-abled persons in the coming days.
