Digboi Town committee failure sparks anger

DIGBOI April 6: The alleged indifferent attitude of Digboi Town Committee (DTC) authority was slammed by the local residents of ward V and VI here in Digboi following the DTC’s failure to provide essential services in the respective wards. Pouring out their wrath towards the DTC authority headed by Sipra Mallick, the chairperson of the Committee, the angry locals of both the affected wards lambasted the authority for turning a deaf ear towards the daily sufferings and hardships of the residents.

According to the aggrieved people, the deplorable condition of the road cause the passersby to face untold miseries and frequent road accidents have become almost a daily phenomenon in the Mission Para area. The defective street lights too in the area have not been repaired in spite of several petitions being submitted, making movement at night risky and unsafe. The contamited water flowing through the drain along PNGB Road in Muliabri area of ward 6 under DTC find way into the residences of the nearby people causing immense hazards, the affected people alleged.
