Dilapidated condition of Sivasagar Texiali irks villagers

Joysagar: The busy Sivasagar-Konwarpur-Kamarfadia connected PWD rural road of about 18 km has become totally dilapidated due to the alleged negligence of the Sivasagar PWD (Rural) authorities. The villagers as well as the Konwarpur AASU and the Konwarpur Brihattar Asomiya Yuba Mancha have expressed resentment over this.

The local leaders and villagers said that they had submitted several memoranda to the district authorities for immediate repair of the Sivasagar Texiali but the authorities have so far turned a deaf ear to their please. Besides, the Konwarpur Dikhow River embankment too has been affected by erosion. Goods trucks and dumpers that frequently ply over the embankment have damaged the embankment and are further worsening the condition of the dilapidated Texiali also.

Konwarpur AASU leaders have alleged that some businessmen use the river embankment for transporting soil and sand in trucks and dumpers. The Sivasagar PWD authorities do not take proper steps to repair the embankment or to stop heavy vehicles from plying over the river embankment. The villagers and organizations have flayed the role of the Sivasagar PWD and district administration in this regard.
