Dima Hasao’s Zion village is second cleanest village of Assam

Haflong, Feb 16: Following the re-establishment of peace in Dima Hasao, the momentum of development in the district accelerated with some vision and challenges. The people of Dima Hasao took the challenges seriously following which the fruit of success began to reach the people. The people of Dima Hasao have every reason to be happy as Zion village of Dima Hasao has bagged the second prize as the cleanest village of Assam.

Rihon Daimary, State PHED Minister, handed over the second prize comprising cash Rs 2.50 lakh and citation, to the representatives of NC Hills Autonomous Council and village head in the Assam Conference on Sanitation, 2017 held at Veteriry College playground, Khapara, Guwahati on Thursday.

The conference was attended by Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal, a group of religious leaders and officials. From Dima Hasao, apart from departmental officials, Chief Executive Member, NC Hills Autonomous Council, Debolal Gorlosa, EM, Samuel Changsan, EM ST Jem Hrankhol, Deputy Chairman, H B Chetri, and MAC Ajoy Chakraborty were present in the ceremony.

Talking to the media, Debolal Gorlosa, CEM of NCHAC, congratulated the people of Zion in particular and the people of Dima Hasao in general for achieving such accolade and appealed to the people of the district to take the inspiration from Zion village and achieve more success in the days to come.
