By Our Staff Reporter

Guwahati, March 9: The All Assam Lawyers’ Association (AALA) has expressed deep anguish and resentment at the heinous and macabre crime committed by a section of people from galand lynching a young man at death in public in presence of central and state security forces.

In a statement, the lawyers’ body denounced the “Talibani way” of execution of the victim, which has led to a simmering tension in both Assam and galand.

The AALA demanded stringent and exemplary punishment to the guilty persons who killed the victim who hailed from Karimganj in Assam.

“The AALA trusts that the galand Government and the Central Government would leave no stone unturned in apprehending all the miscreants involved in the senseless, barbaric and brutal crime,” it said, demanding compensation to the bereaved family members.

The lawyers’ body also requested the galand government to provide protection to Assamese people who are residing at different places of galand. “Also, the Assam Government should ensure the safety of ga people in Assam,” it added.
