Diploma in Elementary Education Workshop Concluded at Kacharihat Junior College in Golaghat, Assam

Golaghat, July 29: With the aim to provide good quality teachers, a workshop on Diploma in Elementary Education under National Institute of Open Schooling at Kacharihat Junior College, held in Golaghat recently. The aims and objectives of Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) are to prepare teachers for the elementary stage of education, that is, from classes I-VIII. This phase covers children of 6-14 years for whom education is a fundamental rights.The purpose of D.El.Ed. Program is to prepare teachers who are able to gradually evaluate and improve their skills, professional practice as teachers by critically reflecting on it, who can understand that teaching is embedded in the social context of the learners and who can engage with context and subject matter that they will be teaching.

In the workshop, retired professor of the Department of English of Hemo Prova Girls’ College, Shiva Bora, faculty of English from Reliance College Junior, Hemanta Bora, Munmun Bordoloi of the Department of Education from Marangi College, and Mathematics teacher from Golaghat Government Bezbaruah HS School, Pratap Rajkhowa attended as resource persons and provided training to untrained in service teachers in the workshop.
