Disposal of garbage in drains and roads prohibited

Dibrugarh, Feb 21: The District Magistrate and   Deputy Commissioner, Laya Madduri, by an prohibitory order issued under Section 144 of Crimil Procedure Code (Cr. P.C.) on Tuesday, has prohibited the disposal of garbage in drains, roads and roadside areas that act as a deterrent in the free flow of water. The prohibitory order gives ample importance to the fact that throwing of garbage in drains, over roads or roadside areas has turned into a major cause for recurrent flood situation in the town areas of the district. Throwing of garbage in drains, roads and roadside town areas of the district and throwing of garbage wastes (biodegradable and non- biodegradable) in other places instead of the dustbins allotted by the Municipality, has been strictly prohibited under the said directive.
