Transport Minister gives away e-rickshaw to Lilawati Daimary

GUWAHATI, Feb 16: State Transport minister Chandra Mohan Patowary today gave away an e-rickshaw to Lilawati Daimary of Baksa. Daimary is a former tiol athletic champion who had brought laurels to the state by winning in many athletic events both in state-level as well as in tiol-level competitions.

The State Government took notice of the player who unfortutely was forced to live in poor economic conditions in spite of representing the state in athletics.

While giving away the e-rickshaw to Lilawati Daimary, Minister Patowary expressed hope that through this e-rickshaw, she would be able to attain self-reliance and thereby uplift the economic condition of her family. He also thanked the media for highlighting the plight of Daimary which helped the government to come forward.  Lilawati Daimary, on her part, thanked the government for its kind gesture in giving her the e-rickshaw.

Commissioner and Secretary (Transport) Ashutosh Agnihotri, Transport Commissioner Puru Gupta and MD, ASTC, AP Tiwari were also present in today’s programme.
