Dispur seeks suggestions on Budget

GUWAHATI, Jan 7: Seeking suggestions from public for their accommodation in the annual budget of the State, when possible, is a culture generated in Assam since when the BJP came to power in the State in 2016. This year also, the State Fince Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma sought suggestions from the public for accommodation in the annual budget for 2018-19. 

The month-long Budget session is to start from February 5, and the Budget is to be tabled in the first half of the session. 

For the 2017-18 annual Budget also the Fince Minister did seek suggestions from various quarters. Quite a large number of suggestions did pour in to the Department last year. The Department did accommodate some of the suggestions in the budget for 2017-18. Such suggestions also help the department in preparing budgets keeping in mind what people of the State want and need.

Such a culture was never seen in Assam before.
