District-level Calligraphy Competition Held in Tezpur

Tezpur: As part of the 570th Srimanta Sankardev birth anniversary celebration, the Edupur Society, a frontier NGO of Tezpur in collaboration with Helping Hands Little Genius, Yes Bank, HL Water Treatment and Sam’s Tiffin organized a district level inter-school calligraphy competition among students at Silver Jubilee LP School in Tezpur recently. Altogether 350 students from 25 schools from class I to XII participated in the Calligraphy Competition. It was held in three categories which was judged by Somser Ahmed, Calligraphy expert, Sadanada Das, headmaster of Pologround Primary School, Tezpur and Dip Kumar Kalita, journalist and cultural activist.

The competition was briefed by Amit Raj Konwar, Founder Secretary of Edupur Society in presence of students, teachers, principals, parents, guest invitees and volunteers of Edupur Society. Speaking on the occasion, Dip Kumar Kalita said, “Competition was held to help the children develop life skills as calligraphy is important for children especially during their early stage of development.” He also appreciated the organizers for organizing such competition that provided opportunities for children to express their creative skills. All participants were given certificates.
