District vigilance committee meeting held

SHILLONG, Feb 21:  The meeting of the district monitoring and vigilance committee, DISHA, for North Garo Hills District was held in Kharkutta block on Monday under the chairmanship of Tura MP, Conrad K Sangma.

The meeting is held in accordance with the guidelines and direction of the Central government which requires all MPs to have the DISHA meeting in all the districts, once in every quarter.

All MLAs, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Block Development Officers (BDOs), officials from line departments are members of the committee and are required to attend the meeting regularly.

The purpose of the meeting is to review all the central schemes, like, MNREGA, PMAY, PMGSY, NSAP (Old age Pension), Midday Meal and other centrally sponsored schemes.

In the meeting held in Kharkutta this time, officials from all departments and the DC and BDOs of respective blocks attended the meeting, where presentations were given on the current status and progress report (physical and fincial) of all the Centrally sponsored scheme.

The official meeting was followed by a public hearing where time was given to the public to express their grievances and clarifications were given by the MP and the officials present.
