DLSA’s awareness programme on parents and senior citizens

Silchar, Feb 16: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) of Cachar is all set to hold an awareness programme on the ‘Rights of Parents and Senior Citizens’ on February 18 at 3 pm in the Mediation Centre, located in the complex of District Bar Association here. Nisanta Goswami, AJS, secretary, DLSA Cachar, sharing this information said that District Legal Services Authority, Cachar, is a statutory body constructed under Section 9 of the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987. Its functions include referring disputes to altertive dispute resolution forums, distributing compensation fund among the victims of crime, organizing Lok Adalats and awareness and training programmes on various legal issues. The District and Session Judge, Cachar, is the chairman of the Authority.
