Sources said the family members of victim Merissa Begum of Kopohuwating area here contacted the GBM Nursing Home last night in Golaghat regarding the availability of doctors in the hospital in the night shift when the woman complained of severe chest pain and respiratory problem in the midnight. When the hospital staff gave a positive reply and advised Merissa Begum’s family members to have a checkup at the KK Civil Hospital in Golaghat and then to bring her to the Nursing home, they followed the same and accordingly at around 2 pm they reached GBM Nursing Home with the woman and approached physician Dr Dilip Rajbangsh for treatment of the woman, who was on duty during that time.

But Dr Rajbangshi who was the resident doctor in the nursing home allegedly refused to provide treatment to the woman, sources said.
