Doctors from Silchar to attend Netrakumbh

Silchar: It was a sort of world record set on Monday at Prayagraj on the occasion of Divya Kumbh where one lakh spectacles were distributed at a single eye camp at Netrakumbh. The camp became famous for such a noble activity.

Many people from across the world are visiting the camp for eye check up irrespective of caste, creed and religion. Almost 1,45,000 patients have already checked in the camp and on Monday morning 1 lakh spectacles were donated free to the patients. It is pertinent to mention that almost 350 doctors from across the country have given their invaluable time voluntarily for the camp.

40 hospitals, government and private, along with Rishikesh AIIMS, Gangaram Hospital and other medical colleges are attached with the OPD are conducting free surgeries at their hospital venue for the patients. From Assam, 5 doctors will join the camp.

They will be there from February 23, 2019 to February 27, 2019. Dr. H. K. Choudhury and Dr. S. S. Dhar, two renowned eye specialists from Silchar will join the camp for under the leadership of Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, Dibrugarh who is a camp executive member from northeast region. SAKSHAM volunteers and workers are also there at Netrakumbh.
