Domahi Utsav celebrated with enthusiasm

Donkamukam, May 15: Domahi, 2018, a Karbi traditional festival, centrally celebrated 25th years of glorious existence at Roghunath Teron Aklam, Baligaon Tumpreng in West Karbi Anglong with a three-day programme from May 12 to May 14. It was organized by So Karbi Jutang Jubat Chingthur Asong (SKJJCA).

On the concluding day, KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang attended as the chief guest and inaugurated the cultural night programme. “We are part of the greater Assamese society and so while the rest of the State is celebrating Bohagi Utsav, we are also not lagging behind in organizing the festival,” he said. In three-day programme, traditional dance like Ohori dance, Samphri dance and Jakoi kibi dance and traditional games were conducted.

Earlier, Rongkhang inaugurated a Rongker community hall and a pavement road at Mugasong and later he laid the foundation stone for construction of Domahi Cultural Hall at the site.
