Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Dibrugarh felicitates its meritorious students of HSLC batch 2018-2019

Dibrugarh: Don Bosco Higher Secondary School organized a colourful cultural programme recently in order to fete its student Labajyoti Das – the 5th rank holder in the HSLC examination – along with the HSLC batch 2018-2019.

The Principal of the school, Rev. Fr. Jose Karippai presented Das with a cash award of Rs 10,000 and a certificate of merit. Three students, Labajyoti Das, Aryan Deepak Upadhya and Shashanka Buragohain, who secured highest marks in English were also duly felicitated with a cash award of Rs 3,500 each by Kaveri Bhuyan in memory of her brother, Deboshish Bhuyan, a past pupil of the school.

Fr. Karippai and former Principal, Fr. K.C. Vincent lauded the parents, teachers and students for their hard work and dedication. Don Bosco School, Dibrugarh has a rich history of producing many personalities who later went to represent the country and the State at the highest echelons. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India, Justice Ranjan Gogoi; and former Lok Sabha Speaker, PA Sangma, among other eminent figures, are alumni of the school.

Gossaigaon: The meritorious students in Gossaigaon subdivision who performed well in the HSLC exam, 2019, were felicitated by various organizations under the sub-division. A felicitation programme was organized by the Gosaaigaon Press Club (GPC) at its office premises on Monday where Major Pradeep Nair of Indian Army, Gossaigaon COB, Bidyut Bikash Bora Bhuyan, Gossaigaon SDPO, Dhruva Kr Brahma, chairman of Gossaigaon Municipal Board, Padmashree Dr Kameswar Prasad Brahma, Gaya Prasad Agarwala, SDO Gossaigaon, along with many other dignitaries attended the programme. Gossaigaon Press Club president Hafijul Rahman presided over the programme where 21 distinction holders from seven different schools were felicitated and motivated for the future.

The teachers and Principals of those students were also felicitated during the programme. A similar programme was also organized on Sunday at Kachugaon Girls’ High School by the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) Kachugaon, where Kachugaon DFO attended the programme as the chief guest. On the other hand, a seminar-cum-motivational programme was organized at Gossaigaon College on Sunday.
