DoNER sanctions projects worth Rs 400 cr in Arunachal

ITANAGAR: Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region has sanctioned projects worth Rs 400 crore to Arunachal Pradesh during the 13th Inter Ministerial Committee (IMC) meeting on North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS).

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Secretary DoNER Naveen Verma through video conferencing with Chief Secretary Satya Gopal at the Secretariat building on Friday where Secretary, Planning, Himanshu Gupta, Dr Atop, Lego Chairman Technical Board for NESIDS & NLCPR and others were present.

The committee selected and approved sanction of two projects in the meeting, making the total sanctioned projects 19.

The projects comprised of construction of roads, infrastructure development of schools, augmentation of water supply, and sewage management system among others.

Satya Gopal termed the sanction of Rs 400 crore as a breakthrough for the State of Arunachal Pradesh as big projects have been selected keeping in mind the requirements of the public at large. Highlighting the mandate of the Government to provide quality services to the people of Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Secretary Satya Gopal informed that the State Government will soon constitute a ‘Quality Assurance Team’ in order to strengthen the quality monitoring mechanism and check duplicity and leakage of quality if there is any.
