Don't celebrate on May 19, says Silchar Congress

SILCHAR, May 14: Silchar District Congress Committee in a press-release has condemned the recent killing of a student, Anupam Das, at Digorkhal. Karnendu Bhttacharjee, District Congress president said that he is upset with the tragic news. He has asked the administration to investigate the matter further so that justice can be meted out. The president also informed that Rs. 5 lakh in cash should be handed over to the family of Anupam Das so that the family can mage for the time-being.

May 19 has emotions attached with the residents of Barak Valley, and this year it will coincidence with the results of the elections. Owing to the emotions attached with this day, Karnendu Bhattacharjee has requested not to indulge in any merry-making on that day. He has requested all the members, cadres and workers of the party to refrain from indulging in any joyous celebration regarding the result of the election.
