Doyang rights body demands resolution of Assam-galand border conflict

GOLAGHAT, May 11: The activist of Doyang Mukti Sangram Samittee staged a protest near the Deputy Commissioner’s office of Golaghat demanding resolution of Assam galand border problems, start administrative set-up of newly declared subdivision and allotment of land patta to people of Doyang areas on Tuesday.About two hundred of activists of the organisation shouted slogan against the rendra Modi led BJP Government and the state congress government.Talking to reporters president and secretary of Doyang Mukti Sangram Samittee, Bhuban Chandra and Ranjan Phukan slammed the state government and said that at the time of the assembly election, the congress government declared Merapani as a subdivision, but the administrative works of the subdivision has not started till date. Doyang Mukti Sangram Samittee submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat demanding start of administrative set up of newly declared subdivision, providing land patta to the people and protect Merapani border area from encroachment by ga peoples.
