Dibrugarh, June 19: The Dr LP Dutta Memorial Lecture held at the Shankar Dev Auditorium of DHS Kanoi College recently on the occasion of the 74th foundation day, concluded successfully. The programme was formally inaugurated by Deputy Registrar (Academic), Dibrugarh University, Dr BC Borah. In his inaugural address, Dr BC Borah emphasized the recent scenario of higher education in India and Northeast India. Associate Dean, ICFAI Business School, Kolkata, Prof. Samprit Chakraborty, while delivering his talk on ‘The Current Education Scenario and Opportunities ahead’, dwelt at length about the global educational scenario in the backdrop of existing Indian educational system.
Renowned educationist, Associate Dean and faculty member and Deputy Placement Coordinator, IBS, ICFAI Business School, Bengaluru, Prof. Surjabrata Buragohain also spoke on ‘Entrepreneurship and Innovation – the way forward for Assam’. In his deliberation, Prof. Borgohain explained about entrepreneurship and importance of innovation for one’s success in life. Saying that failure was the key to success in life, he called upon the youth to face the challenges of life with positive approach.
The interactive session among the both speakers and the faculty as well as students, held immediately after the deliberations, was lively and informative. Earlier, Principal of the college, Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia welcomed all the guest speakers, dignitaries, family members of Dr. L.P Dutta’s family, students, faculty members and the august gathering.
