Dr S Rita to head RIMS Imphal

IMPHAL April 24: Dr S. Rita, head of department of pharmacology department shall assume the charge of Director of Regiol Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal on Monday. This is for the first time in the history of RIMS which was established in 1972 that a lady faculty will be in the chair of the Director. She will be in office for six months. During this period the union health ministry will take steps to appoint a regular director with the approval of the Cabinet Committee on Appointments. There will be tion-wide advertisements and selection interview will be held after short listing the deserving candidates. Soft spoken and with a friendly disposition, Dr Rita has always maintained a low profile. Though she could have assumed charge from Friday itself she relaxed for two days.
