Drinking water scheme by ADBU

GUWAHATI, April 10: As a part of its social commitment activities, Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) has taken an initiative ‘Bixudha Jol Asoni’ to provide pure drinking water facilities to the villages in Assam and its adjoining States. This initiative is supported by strong research in socially relevant areas in the University’s Centre of Excellence in notechnology. Detection of water contamition and remediation has been focal areas of research. In the first phase of this initiative 12 villages have been selected for the installation of the indigenously-designed solar-powered water purifiers. The villages selected for the first phase of the initiative, according to a press release, are Jugdol, Upper Tapesia, Patarkuchi, Medhikuchi, m Tapesia, Goriaghili, zirakhat, Morangabari, Kalitakuchi, Jargaon, Chagoli gaon and Hatimora, a press release said.
