Drive against illicit liquor

SHILLONG, Jan 29: In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise staff of East Khasi Hills District conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts where during the month of December, 2015, detected 42 cases with a seizure of 167.800 litres of i/d liquor and 18.960 litres of IMFL. In this connection 37 persons were arrested under the Excise Act.
