Drive against unregistered vehicles

ITAGAR, Feb 10: As many as 26 vehicles were registered on the spot on first day of week-long Vehicle Registration drive, while High Security Number plate (HSNP) were affixed on 95 vehicles at Pasighat town in East Siang district. Transport officials with help of Police and Magistrate today conducted vehicular checking and compelled the owners to register their vehicles at the spot. District Transport officer, Chakfa Wangsu informed that his team would continue the registration drive at Pasighat till February 11 next, while they would conduct the drive at Mebo, Sille and Ruksin on February 12, 13 and 14 respectively. East Siang Deputy Commissioner, Isha Khosla, who iugurated the week-long registration drive at Pasighat Bus stand, has appreciated the efforts of the department and instructed the officials concerned to maintain transparency and accountability in the registration processes, an official release informed here today.
