Drug peddlers arrested

Itagar, April 9: The Sille-Oyan police in East Siang district yesterday arrested three drug peddlers with the help of Adi Bane Kebang East Siang Women Wing and brown sugar worth one lakh was seized from their possession. Three arrested are identified as Rohit Chaurasia from Joi, Sanjay Pegu from Madhyapur, Assam and Otem Taggu from Oyan village, sources informed. The three peddlers were arrested from the house of Otem Taggu alias Pinky Taggu. It is informed that the trio is dreaded smugglers that have been supplying drugs to the youths in the district. A case has been registered under NDPS Act. Meanwhile, the ABK WW Anti-Drugs Committee team had earlier helped the police in bbing two drug peddlers, Dhanjay Shah and Avish Burman for possessing 30 rolls of canbis here last week. A case has been registered with Pasighat PS, sources added.
