DTO Darrang collects  revenue of  Rs 13.55 lakh

MANGALDAI, April 6: The District Transport Department here in Darrang has been able to earn a record revenue in the fincial year of 2017-2018. According to information received from the office of the District Transport Officer (DTO), a total amount of Rs.13,55,4,485 against the target of Rs. 1,19,00,000 fixed by the State Transport department was collected. The office of the DTO in the last fincial year ended on March 31, earned additiol amount revenue of Rs. 2,46,00,000 was than the target amount. Significantly, in the year 2016-2017 the target was Rs. 7. 72 lakh while the department collected a total amount of Rs. 8,58,93,335. On the other hand, the office of the DTO, Darrang, in 2015-2016 could have collected a total amount of Rs. 6,13,47,963.00 against the target amount of Rs. 7.2 lakhs.

The office of the DTO, Darrang which had collected Rs. 6.13 lakh two years back, this year collected Rs. 13.55 lakh. Talking to The Sentinel, District Transport Officer Dipanjali Bora said that the combined effort with sincerity and tough stand on the traffic rule violators initiated by all the officials and employees concerned of the District Transport Office, was the sole reason for the increase in revenue earnings.
