Duliajan AASU's founder secretary passes away

DULIAJAN, January 19: The founder secretary of Duliajan AASU, Sapon Tahsilder passed away on Tuesday morning at his residence at Daily Bazaar, Duliajan after suffering from prolonged illness. He was 65. He was general secretary of Duliajan regiol committee of All Assam Students' Union (AASU) from 1969 to 1972. He also worked for development of labourers in the entire Duliajan area and later he joined CPI (M). Jadumoni Dutta, education secretary of Dibrugarh district unit of AASU, and Duliajan AASU condoled his death and the flag was flown in half mast as a mark of respect. He leaves behind two sons and one daughter along with a host of relatives.
