Duliajan Xahitya Xabha observes 52nd foundation day

DULIAJAN, Jan 9: The 52nd foundation day of Duliajan Xahitya Xabha (DXX) was held on Friday at the Bordoloi Bhavan of DXX, Duliajan with a day-long programme.

As per day long programme, in the morning 52 flags were unfurled by the members of DXX in front of their office and smirti tarpan was done by senior DXX’member Ramakanta Saikia. In the afternoon, Assamese poetry competition was held among the students aged above 15 years. In the afternoon hours Sanskirt shlok recitation competition was held.

In the poetry competition in Assamese poet section, first prize was won by Geetanjali Chutia, second prize by Pallabi Borgohain, third prize by Bikramaditya Dutta Kakoty and Bhupen Saikia received a special award as judge in the competition. In the Sanskirt shlok recitation competition, first prize was won by Ramakanta Saikia, second prize by Bijaya Borah Baruah and third prize by Bi Konwer Baruah.

A special ‘Juli Chora’ programme was held under the director ship of Dilip Kr. Borah and president ship of Dr Bimal Sarmah, president of DXX.
