Education scam: HC asks SP to appear in court

SHILLONG, June 20: The Meghalaya High Court on Monday directed the East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP), to appear before in connection with the case relating to alleged irregularities in the appointment of teachers in government-run Lower Primary schools in the state. The SP has been directed to appear along with the investigating officer concerned on Tuesday. During the hearing today, the counsel for the state government submitted that he did not receive any progress report till date. As per the order on June 3, the East Khasi Hills District SP was directed to instruct the Investigating Officer concerned to submit the progress report within two weeks.
