Educationist passes away

GAURISAGAR, Feb 3: Noted educationist, former Assistant Teacher of Charing Radha Kanta Phukan High School and a resident of Caharing Chetia village, Surjya Kanta Phukan passed away recently in Guwahati. He was 93.

Phukan got superannuation on 1988 as Assistant Teacher. After retirement he was actively associated with Charing Swahid Maniram Dewan College, Charing Sakha Xahitya Xabha and Srimanta Sankardev Sangha. Various organizations like Radha Kanta Phukan High School, Charing Swahid Maniram Dewan College, Charing Press Club, Pub Charing ME School and Charing Sakha Xahitya Xabha have condoled the death of noted educationist. He is survived by his wife, a son, three daughters and a host of relatives.
