Educationist Podma Bori remembered at Gaurisagar

GAURISAGAR, November 26:  A memorial meeting of noted social worker, leader of Assam Agitation and former Headmaster of Dikhowmuk Jajati High School, Podma Bori was held at his Dikhowmukh Jamiri village on Wednesday. He passed away on October 28.

To commemorate the noted educationist, a book Sifaruha was released, written by Binuwa Taye and Bidyut Bikash Baruah. Noted social worker and former Assistant Mager, noi TE, Rajen Gogoi released the book. In his speech he said that Podma Bori was an honest man who dedicated his life for the people.

In the function Niruj Raj Medhi, retired Headmaster, Tengapani High School, Dolapa, Sabharam Bharali, retired Vice-Principal, Dikhowmukh HS School, social worker Sumeswar Khanikar, Rajen Gogoi, Diju Sakia, Headmaster, Dikhowmukh Jajati High School, Pabitra Dutta, Associate Professor, Dikhowmukh College, Dr.Amarjit Saikia, former general secretary, AASU Sivasagar District Committee and Associate Professor, Margherita College, Moneswar Mili, member, Dessangi-Dikhow Constituency, Mising Autonomous Council,  Dr Ranjit Baruah, Associate Professor, Dikhowmukh College, former AASU leader Ajit Saikia and Prahlad Khanikor took part in the function and highlighted the contribution of Bori in the Assam Agitation as well as the field of education.
