Eight candidates to contest from Mwdwibari

KALAIGAON, March 29: As many as eight candidates from different political parties along with Independence candidates are going to contest from No. 35 Mwdwibari Territorial Constituency in the upcoming BTC election.

The candidates are Anta Baro (Independent), Apurba Deka (AGP), Jagadish Sarkar (BPF), Kalidas Baishya (Independent), Niranjan Singh (BJP), Shyamal Sarkar (Independent), Tarun Saharia (INC) and Usuf Ali (PCDR).

Talking to media persons BJP candidate Niranjan Singh said that their party would form the next government in the BTC. He also said that the people were fed up with the BPF rule and they were now yearning for a change. “The corrupt image of BPF will ensure defeat of its candidates like former MCLA Jagadish Sarkar,” he said while addressing an election meeting.

Adequate security measures have been made throughout Bhergaon Subdivision in five constituencies like Mwdwibari, Khwirwbari, Bhergaon, Noi Serfang and Khalingduar for holding free and fair elections. Three companies of paramilitary force along with Assam Police personnel have been deputed to keep the situation under control.
