Eight cattle thieves arrested

DIBRUGARH, April 25: Duliajan police arrested eight cattle thieves from Bhadoi Panchali area on Saturday at 3 pm.

The arrested persons were identified as Runu Hazarika (31), Digboi, Tinsukia,  Safiqul Islam alias Galil (24), Samaguri, gaon, Mustafa Kamal (31), Rupahi, wgaon, Siba Tanti (19),  Mu Bari T.E, Bihali, Tezpur, Dipak yak (20), Samaguri, gaon, Habibur Rahman (25), Rupohi, gaon, Mujibur Rahman alias Kolia (40) Rupohi, gaon and Biswajit Das (29), Digboi, Tinsukia.

The police arrested the thieves when they were carrying 36 stolen cows in two trucks from Digboi to gaon. All the cattle thieves are in police custody. The police registered a case (No 157/2015) under section 379/411 r/w section 11(a), (b) under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
