Election of Hmar Literature Society held

Haflong, April 16: The general session and election of Hmar Literature Society, Assam was held at Ch Khotlang Memorial Hall at Muolhoi on Saturday. The general session was attended by the delegates from Barak Valley, Guwahati, Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao. In the session, a prolonged discussion was held on development and implementation of Hmar language which has got the status of Major Indian Language (MIL) like others but the government is yet to create the posts of teachers for Hmar language.  This was followed by the election for the formation of new committee under the leadership of Dr V L T Bapui, D Lit as the president of the Hmar Literature Society, Assam.
