Election preparedness meet held in Chirang

KOKRAJHAR, March 19: A meeting of the six zol and 24 Sector Officers for the 13 Chirang (ST) BTC constituency, 14 Chirang Duars (ST) and 15 Kajalgaon (ST) under Kajalgaon Sadar subdivision in Chirang district was held on Thursday at Kajalgaon in the conference hall of the Chirang DC office, stated a press release issued by the DIPRO, Chirang Gagan rzary.

The meeting was presided over by the Chirang Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Returning Officer Rupak Kr. Mazumder and was attended by Chirang SP Ranjan Kr. Bhuyan, ADC Dasarat Das, PD, DRDA, Deba Kr. Kalita, EO Dharanidhar Boro, Sidli Circle Officer-Karmadev Brahma and Jitu Kr. Barman. Initiating the meeting, the DC reiterated the scheduling of BTC election, 2015 as per the announcement made by the State Election Commission on March 18. He requested all the zol and sector officers to visit their respective polling stations immediately and to get familiar with the location.

Mazumdar asked them to submit the reports of the condition of polling station, road condition, route maps, types of vehicle required and other facilities like ramps, drinking water, toilets, electricity in the polling stations. In the meeting, training for the polling personnel was scheduled on March 24 and April 4 at Kajalgaon High School and Sidli- Kashikotra HS School.

The SP spoke about the structure of zones and sectors of the police, security availability and their plan to deploy the security personnel as per the assessment made by them and the necessity of holding a joint meeting of the police and civil zol and sector officers. The Chirang DC and Returning Officer also held a meeting on Wednesday with the cell in-charge formed for conduct of BTC election.
