Elephant herd wreaks havoc in Nitaiphukhuri

DEMOW, February 7:  In Sivasagar district under Nitaiphukhuri Mouza at Sesamukh, since the past few days a herd of wild elephants had strayed into the agricultural lands of the farmers and destroyed several quintals of tomato. According to sources, the herd of wild elephants came from Madala Forest in Dibrugarh district. Two elephants from the herd recently entered in the agricultural land of Seniram Panging, a farmer of Sesamukh Bhekuri Sapori gaon and ate six quintals of tomato. The herd of wild elephants has created fear and panic among the villagers since the past few days.
