Elephant killed in Burhachapari

gaon, April 29: The body of a wild elephant was recovered near Bagariguri forest camp in Burhachapari wildlife sanctuary. The elephant is suspected to have been killed three days ago. The tusk and some part of the trunk of the elephant had been away by poachers. Sources said that poachers fired several rounds of shots at the elephant near Brahmaputra river and the elephant later reached near the Bagariguri forest camp before it died. However, before the forest guards came to know about the incident, the poachers took away the tusk. The forest department has launched a massive operation to b the poachers.
