Emerging issues in Indian education system discussed

GAON (HAIBOEGAON), November 5: The Department of Education of Nonoi College in collaboration with North Eastern Development Council for Human Resource, gaon recently organized a two-day long UGC sponsored tiol conference on the topic ‘Emerging issues and challenges in Indian education system and its remedy’ at the college auditorium.  The conference was iugurated by the retired Principal of Nowgong College, Dr Khargeswar Bhuyan. Professor Jagat Swargiary, Head of the Department of Education of Gauhati University graced the occasion as the chief guest and in his speech Swargiary raised the different issues and challenges and also the requirement of Indian education. Dr Swargiary also iugurated a volume of proceedings of the conference.  On the other hand, Dr Dulumoni Goswami, Associate Professor, Department of Education of Gauhati University, took part in the conference as the resource person and in his speech Dr Goswami highlighted the competitive scerio and other new challenges that had come in the higher education. Many professors like Dr Juri Mahanta of Cotton College and Dr Brinda Bazeley Kharbirymbai of NEHU, Shillong graced the conference and highlighted the issues and other challenges in higher education. Around 45 papers were presented and total 120 participants from different parts of the Northeast were present in the conference.
