Eminent author and jourlist Arup Kumar Dutta felicitated

MANGALDAI, Feb 13: “While I was studying in a boarding school in Himachal, I used to face neglected and derogatory comments for Assam and Northeast from my classmates and other students and they even nickmed me ‘head hunter’ as they had no idea or concept of Assam. Since then I took a strong decision to establish Assam and the Northeast before the entire India through writings. The mission of my life is to reflect Assam and the Northeast before the whole country,” said eminent jourlist and intertiolly acclaimed author Arup Kumar Dutta who has been nomited for the Padmashree award this year.

Dr. Dutta was addressing a very well-organized august felicitation function organized in his honour at Mangaldai on Monday by Mangaldai Media Circle. “In 2014, I along with my wife attended  a function in Las Vegus, North America , organized in our honour  by the Assam Association there. But I consider today’s function at Mangaldai as more memorable for me than that of the Las Vegas!” added an overwhelmed Dutta in his speech.

In the jam packed meeting hall of Satan Dharma Sabha, president of Mangaldai Media Circle, Hitesh Hazarika and secretary Mayukh Goswami , prominent cultural organizer Rajib Kr Deka and Deputy Commissioner of Darrang, Ashok Kr Barman on behalf of Mangaldai Media Circle offered him a traditiol seleng chadar, a gamosa, a traditiol bota and a letter of citation. About 20 social organizations and institutions of the locality, including Darrang Zila Xahitya Xabha, district AASU, district AJYCP, Crystal Vision, AMSA, district committee of BJP, including Mukul Chandra Deka of SRD Group of Companies, chairman of Mangaldai Municipality Board, Pratap Bordoloi and Principal of DIET, Madhab Sarma also offered him hearty felicitation.
